Bargain Beaches:  Spend the summer at the jersey shore - without breaking the bank...: "Ocean Court by the Sea, off the boardwalk in Long Branch, NJ has ocean view rooms for 95 dollars. The Turquoise carpet will make you wince, but the rooms, complete with gas range, microwave, fridge and sleek televisions, are clean and comfortable.. Ocean Court's owner, Pat Janssen, is vigilant and helpful and she could be your best friend on Labor Day.  She still has some open slots. You can enjoy the low-key atmosphere of Long Branch that focuses on the simple pleasures of the beach."

"After a fairly quick train trip down the Jersey Shore from Manhattan (NJ Transit round trip from Penn Station - $15) we stayed in a little seaside motel in the town of Long Branch - "Ocean Court by the Sea".   Dinner that night was fantastic at Charley's Seafood Grill - order from the fresh specials on the blackboard (ask Pat at Ocean Court for directions). Later on we enjoyed a beautiful moonlit stroll along the wide beach across the street from our room.  The beach was quiet and surprisingly nice - better by far than our hectic experiences last year at Point Pleasant.   Long Branch also has a nice sidewalk sized boardwalk for running or rollerblading. Ocean Court by the Sea is reasonably priced and comfortable - but not extravagant.   The unit we had was oceanfront, on the second floor with a beautiful wooden deck right outside the sliding glass door entrance.  There were chairs on the deck for enjoying the view of the ocean, and it was a lovely view.  The room also had a full kitchen which we didn't use, but I can see how it would be a great thing for someone seeking an extended stay at the Jersey shore.  Sandy Hook Lighthouse and The Stone Pony Rock Club in Asbury Park (first home of Bruce Springsteen) - are both less than 10 minutes away."
